What is your favorite genre of music?
Folk music makes me happy. It feels like something I could do, though I definitely can’t. Since Andy Griffith introduced me to The Darlings, I’ve been hooked. I loved the catchy, often nonsense lyrics, so catchy and easy to learn. It was intended just for me.

Folk music in the UK is very different to this. Music is such a personal thing. There is no ‘good’ or ‘bad’ – just what you like. For me, it’s easier to say what I don’t like – which (generally speaking) is modern jazz, boring ‘clipetty-clop’ country and western, and rap. I appreciate that C&W need not be tedious and that modern jazz and rap can be clever. Live music is special. Punk, rock ‘n’ roll, pop, classical, opera, folk, big band, trad jazz – anything, really. I feel sorry for anyone that says they ‘only like’ one type of music.

We still watch this show all the time, and it’s always a treat when these characters come to town and start singing. :)
