What snack would you eat right now?
If someone showed up at my door right now with a sausage biscuit right now, there is no way I could say “No.” Even better, nothing compares to a homemade biscuit hot out of the oven. When I was a kid, Mother made biscuits twice a day. At the time, I had no idea how hard that was for her. Thank you, Mother

Yum Yum…..

I don’t think I could say “no” either. Just thinking about it made me hungry. :-)

I have never heard of a sausage biscuit, but I did know what you call a biscuit is similar to what we call a scone but not the same as scones are sweeter and denser

Biscuits are a quickbread made with flour, salt, baking powder, milk, and butter or shortening. They have no yeast. The sausage is a patty, like hamburger. You slice the hot biscuit and slide the fried sausage in. The are wonderful for breakfast. I will do a post about biscuits.

Now days I don’t cook at all, I used to love baking cakes, now my sister bakes them and shares what she makes between herself, our sister Sandy and me.

Wow! Biscuits twice a day! I thought I was doing well to make them once a week.

Biscuits were a staple for breakfast and supper, Mother didn’t measure. She poured a mound of self-rising flour in a bowl, hollowed out an indentation, scooped in some shortening, poured in some milk and squeezed the mix together with her hands, squeezing it through her fingers. When the mis “felt right” she rolled it around a bit and popped it in pan. She always made 27. Any leftover were snacks. Rarely, she’d collect a few and make bread pudding.
