Good Man

Describe a man who has positively impacted your life.

My husband, Bud, has positively impacted my life. He supports me in what I need to do. Though he shares his opinions freely, he understands I will do what I feel I feel is best. When I realized I was not cut out to be a teacher, he supported me in pursuit oof my nursing career. He is a strong, kind man. I wish there were more like him.

Run?

How often do you walk or run?

I run if I see a bear, Freddy Kruger,a mudslide, or a Tsunami coming my way. I walk to get where I need to be. That’s about it.

Exploring the Lush Country of New Zealand: A Ticket Winner’s Dream

If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?

I think I’d go to New Zealand. It’s such a lush country. The climate seems wonderful. I could see the ocean and unbelievable mountains on the same trip. I’ve convinced myself New Zealand is heaven, though admittedly, I am basing my opinion on movie scenery. I’ve done no research.

Favorite Board Game

That’s a hard one for me. I have terminal ADD. Most likely, I have to be reminded when it’s my turn. I find conversations much more interesting. Also, I constantly interrupt myself to do something, get snacks, do something for the dog, or recall something I meant to do earlier. The only game I’d ever suggest playing is Scrabble. Word games come closest to holding my interest, since I love language. Should we sit down to a board game, prepare to be disappointed in me. My playing will be so lousy you’ll have to talk about me to your buddies. I’m so bad, I won’t even lose.

Surgery

Since I am way past being a kid, I have a boring list of surgeries but there is a surgery that immediately made me feel better. I had varicose vein repair surgery three times. After years of being a nurse, I had ugly, bulging varicose veins. The pain was a much bigger concern than cosmetic concerns. I had constant burning pain. After many years of varicosities, I developed restless leg syndrome. Varicose vein surgery relieved the acute vein pain immediately, but not the restless legs. I treat that very successfully with ropinerole. Thank goodness, that helped. I suggest people wear compression stockings for their leg health and seek early intervention. Take care of your legs.
