My first grade romance with John Gordon never really got off the ground. I was able to overlook the snotty nose he wiped on his shirt sleeve, but I didn’t like it a bit when he took my lunch money out of my desk. I worked him over at recess, getting it back, but I just never felt the same.

His actions ended the puppy love.

‘Worked over’…It can be interpreted in many ways, I’m going to assume for obvious reasons you beat him up yes?

That’s liKe Lester our classroom jester. He mixed all the food on his lunch tray together but it didn’t bother me. Then one day he asked Carol to be on the other side of the see-saw with him. I got all worKed up at recess and decided it was all over for us.
