Time for Myself

What daily habit do you do that improves your quality of life?

I am fortunate to be at that time in my life when most of my time is my own. I get my housekeeping out of the way early so I do what I want the rest of the day. I putter with my plants, garden when it’s not too hot, crochet, cook, write, read, or visit my ninety-six year old Mother. We are homebodies but occasionally, Bud and I go out to breakfast or lunch with friends. I think it’s timing rather than habit that improved my quality of life.

  1. A morning walk without my phone. I wake up and immediately put my shoes on and get morning sunshine. There is proven science on what this does for us. It doesn’t have to be far, some days it is simply around the block! Others it is at least half a mile. Then there are days when I go much further. This simple habit has changed my life. I am doing something for me first thing in the morning. I am not jumping out of bed and focusing on work. I am putting myself first and that feels amazing.

  3. I’m so happy you have time for just you. I’ve always wanted to learn to crochet, but that is one craft I’m just not able to grasp. I love that you have the time to enjoy your passions. Hugs my friend, oh and if you are ever inclined, I’d love to see some of your crochet work.
