Sunshine

What things give you energy?

Sunshine gives me energy. There’s no better way to wake up than to birdsong and sunshine. It just gives me a feeling of optimism and timelessness, reminding me that I am just a part of something bigger. I am not responsible for everything, just my little corner of the world. I love that universal feeling.

  1. What a great attitude, Beth, I admire your outlook on this beautiful thing we call life.

That said, I always feel a spark of energy when I witness acts of kindness extended by someone to others. For example, recently a young college age student coming out of a bank saw a frail elderly woman approaching the front entrance some 25-30 feet away, but rather than allow the heavy door to close for her to grapple with, he stood there patiently holding the door. Talk about experiencing a natural high just watching that unselfishness. It’s things like this that just adds a skip and bounce in my steps.

Every now and then I will pay-it-forward as the saying goes for the items of the person behind me in a drive-thru line.

  2. Wonderfully written my dear friend. I love the illustration with the sun trying to peak through the daisy. Love the inspiration of energy you’ve given to us today. Hugs

  3. My neighbors would agree with you about sunshine. At our gatherings, I’m the one hugging the shade. For years I got up before the sun to get ready for work. Now I look forward to rain. It means I’m not going to walk and could stay in bed if I wanted to.
