What could you do more of?
Where do I start? The very next thing I must do more of is gardening. My flower beds are weedy and overgrown, screaming for attention. Morning glories have totally taken over one bed. My flagstone patio needs grooming. It’s shameful how I’ve neglected it. This list could go on and on. It have promised myself and my flowers they’ll get the care they need as soon as the cooler days of fall arrive.
All the best!

It sounds like you have a beautiful garden waiting to shine again! Starting with a clear plan can really help. Maybe tackle one area at a time—like the flower beds or the flagstone patio—so it feels more manageable. Morning glories can be tricky, but once you reclaim that space, your flowers will thank you! As fall approaches, it’s the perfect time for rejuvenation. Remember to enjoy the process; gardening can be so therapeutic. You’ve got this! 🌼🍂

Gardening is such a beautiful metaphor for life. The way you describe your flower beds, overgrown and overtaken by morning glories, speaks to the way we sometimes let things in our lives go unattended. Yet, there’s always that promise of renewal—a return to care and attention. Just as your flowers are patiently waiting for you, life too holds space for our return, no matter how long we’ve been away. The cooler days of fall seem like the perfect time to nurture not only the soil but also ourselves, pulling the weeds from both garden and soul. There’s no shame in neglect, only wisdom in knowing when to restore what’s been left untended.

My mother had and my twin sister has a green thumb. I was not blessed with that quality though. I tend to over water plants that I have. I am envious of those who do well with plants. My mother always made it look so peaceful working in her garden. I think she unintentionally found it to be grounding for her. No pun intended. 😜
If you had to choose, what would you say your favorite plant is? Mine is orchids. I just love how beautiful and unique they are.

I couldn’t possibly choose but I do love roses. I have them planted just outside my garden room . They are thriving there. It’s such a joy to see theit beautiful faces in the morning. I’ve never been able to please an orchidbut I know I’ll try again.

It sounds like you’re ready to dive into your gardening project! Here are some steps to help you get started:
Make a Plan: Identify specific areas that need attention, like the flower beds and patio. List the tasks in order of priority.
Gather Supplies: Collect tools and materials you’ll need, such as gloves, pruners, weeding tools, mulch, and any plants or seeds you want to introduce.
Tackle Weeds First: Clear out the weeds in your flower beds. You can use mulch to help suppress future growth.
Prune and Groom: Trim back overgrown plants and tidy up the flagstone patio, removing debris and any unwanted growth.
Plant and Refresh: Once the beds are cleared, consider adding new flowers or plants to rejuvenate the space.
Establish a Routine: Create a maintenance schedule for regular care, like weeding and watering, to prevent future overgrowth.
Enjoy the Process: Take your time and enjoy being outdoors as you work on your garden!
Starting with a clear plan will help you tackle the tasks more effectively. Happy gardening!

Oh, that sounds grim. I do housework but I wouldn’t if I could dump it on somebody else.

OMG, I thought the same yesterday. My garden needs way more time than I am able to give… Weed all over… Once I thought, why not simply letting everything just grow. I wild nature garden and I make only room for plants I want to put somewhere specifially. At least a thought, but a long way to get there… lol

I can smirk, because I cleaned out the mint bed and weeded a hosta bed that no one looks at.
