What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?
I put off ironing until I have several pieces. It seems like too much trouble to get the ironing board out for just a piece or two. I am partial to cotton, so all my clothes have to be ironed. I love the crisp look and the clean smell of nicely-pressed cotton. I also appreciate that fact that starched cotton repels spills and spots. I never dreamed when I was a kid and hated crisply starched clothes that one day I’d be starching my own.

Postponing is my ever enemy, I hope to defeat every day

You know something you love doing but setting it up is hard work?, That’s ironing to me. I love ironing. Sometimes it is a ritual.
I get in my head when I iron. But I still need to drag myself to get it started😜

It’s a big job. I feel so satisfied when I see the line of freshly ironed clothes.

Is that a self portrait, dearie? What a lovely blouse you’re wearing! Did you iron those ruffles all by yourself?… 😂

Oh, my blouses don’t have ruffles and I promise there will be no self-portrait.

I think the iron is the one household item I would not miss when it disappeared… lol. I only iron when it is absolutely necessary.

I remember when I was younger I would set a time limit for my ironing as I hated doing it so much usually between 15-20 minutes. Now days I only iron Tim’s work shirts, my hankies and a couple of tea towels that always look nicer when ironed. I don’t have an ironing board I just use the small table on wheels or the kitchen bench with a folded towel to place the item to be ironed on.

I forgot all about nice tea towels and guest towels. They do need ironing!

Cute monkey ironing! I must be the oddball, because I love to iron. Mind you I haven’t ironed anything in several years, but I did do ironing for customers for many years. I began earning money when still in elementary school by taking in ironing. Kept on doing that every where we lived, lots of customers, up until a couple of years ago. :)

I retired from ironing a few years ago. At the start when I was a kid it was 50 cents a dozen pieces, then as the years went on I ended up at a dollar per piece. People would bring one or two dozen at a time, and I had several customers. I could iron a dozen in less than an hour, so I was making good money! :)

I don’t mind ironing. I hate cleaning the kitchen but feel so much better when it’s sparkling clean!

I love a clean kitchen! Too bad it won’t clean itself.

I put off cleaning my CPAP accessories on a weekly basis. Hence, I have three sets of tubes and reservoirs and clean them all at the same time. Of course, it takes longer🥴

I’m with you on that, unless needed I wait until there are several pieces. I love the feel of a freshly ironed shirt. The monkey is to busy talking, I bet that spot is burned. HAHA

Somehow I never knew starched cotton is stain-resistant. Is it because of the starch? Probably the absence of any ironing whatsoever (I don’t even own an iron) in my routine has kept me in the dark on this, but I’d love to check it out!

Yes. Liquid beads up on a well-starced item.
