What’s the coolest thing you’ve ever found (and kept)?
Bud was nearing the end of nursing school as we neared the end of our funds. He was piddling around with his camera and opened a box of film that had been sitting on the shelf awhile. Disappointed to find it held no film, he assumed it was a rolled up instruction manual. Frustrated, he intended to trash it but unrolled it first. Stunned, he found it was a roll of hundred dollar bills: three thousand dollars in total! His hands were shaking when he came rushing in to tell me of his incredible find. He had no idea how long that box had been waiting on the shelf. It couldn’t have come at a more fortuitous time.

I did need it and it was the second time I found a $50 bill on the ground but the first time I saw an old man drop it so I was able to return it to him

Oho, yours beats mine by about a million miles! ~ a $100 bill nearly folded on the sidewalk right at an absolutely devastating financial moment, in a place where I couldn’t possibly ask anyone about it. Your story rocks!

It certainly delighted us. When Bud left his job in the oil industry he rolled his retirement over and sold enough stock 15k to budget for nursing school. He was determined not to borrow money for school. He found 3k three months before graduation. I was working 60 hours a week so I couldn’t do more. When he graduated we had $300 in bank. Just barely squeaked through without loan.
