If you could make your pet understand one thing, what would it be?
My mastiff mix, Croc, is probably near ten. Until fairly recently, he never woke me to go out. He seemed to have a bladder the size of a soccer ball. Quite often, he dawdled about till after eight before asking to go out. Now he wakes me up between for and five. Fortunately for Bud in this instance, he’s deaf in one ear. Croc comes after me first. He gently kisses my foot or arm to wake me. There’s no hope of reprieve. I’m getting up. He goes out alone for about five minutes. I’m back in bed in minutes.

Your dog is awesome, and he asks you to go out so politely.

He’s sweet but persistant. No putting him off.

Our dog Dot Dot would come in and wake me to go out usually around 5am she would put her paws on the bed and gently touch my face to wake me, back in those days I didn’t get till 6.30am. I would let her out, and leave the wooden door open and go back to bed, she would come in through the doggie door, which was in the screen door.

It was good you had a good method. I don’t have a good door.

Croc is really good to wake you up so gently when he needs to go out.
I think my dog understands me very well. She just pretends not to.

He is a good nurse, too. When one of us is under the weather, he won’t leave our side. He adores little children and babies. If I ever had another baby in the family, I’d have a mastiff. He lies down in hopes a baby will crawl all over him.

Now that’s bad. When I was a kid we had a cat who’d lick two or 3 times then chomp down. For a minute he’d seem sweet.
