What strategies do you use to cope with negative feelings?
When I am bombarded by negative feelings, I distract myself until I have time or the objectivity to put my house in order. One of the benefits of aging is learning everything is not about me. I am responsible only for my behavior and reactions. I do what I can to accommodate a negative situation with integrity, then deal as I must.
Wise advice. I tend to get outside in the garden. It gives me a sense of peace while I set my house in order. You’re right that we only waste our time worrying over something we can’t control.

Ah, it’s so good to see you, my friend. I have found many strategies. In my topsy turvy life–of traveling to the NCI, more scans, tons of appts, some stability, some progression….I start to feel “overwhelmed” and a bit …negative. I count my blessings and like you, I know it’s not about me and others have it much worse!
I can’t control anyone else’s negative attitude, I can only control my reaction.

Once I would listen to music to remove negativity now I just feel sad and wait for the sadness to pass
