What makes a good neighbor?
A good neighbor is friendly but non-intrusive. My groceries were recently delivered to my neighbors l’s house and he brought them over. I tended his dogs when he was hospitalized. My other neighbor caught my dog when it slipped out. I was grateful. I share baked goods or canned goods sometimes. My neighbors say they appreciate it. We share pertinent news, burn bans, boil water advisories, and other important information. We all try to make life easier for each other.

I moved into a new neighbourhood, and no one came by to say hi. I know that’s normal these days, but I was wondering: would it be weird if I knocked on my neighbours’ doors to say hi? And maybe bring some baking?

I would be friendly to you. I wonder if people are suspicious in your area. What part of the country are you. If people aren’t open, you might try joining a book club or an exercise or craft class.

Those are good ideas. My library has a writer’s group on Sundays. I might join that when it starts up in February.
I’m in Alberta, Canada. It’s usually pretty friendly, but not everyone reaches out first. I might as well give it a shot. Thanks for the encouragement.
