What could you do less of?
Housework is a job I would love to abandon forever. I love a clean house and work hard to keep it clean but would be delighted if I never touched another broom, mop, or dishtowel. Housework is onerous, not something I take pleasure in. I wish I could be like Bud. He never thinks of housework. He does what I ask, sometimes grudgingly but rarely attacks any household task voluntarily. Recently, I turned emptying the dishwasher over to him because he regularly complained he didn’t the organization of the cabinets. Maybe he’ll comment on something else he doesn’t like.

This is the man I need!
I hate it too! The real problem is no one else in my house can get it done right! I end up putting on headphones and listening to a podcast or calling my friends while I clean, and it passes the time! Mr. Clean is my dream guy too! lol

My mother made us clean house. She used guilt. I should have tried that with my lazy kids.

I read the question and thought what could I do with less of and nothing came to mind, until I stood up to take my breakfast dishes to the kitchen and the answer came to me pain, I could do with less pain.

You must have learned to deal with it pretty well if it wasn’t the first thing you thought of.

Yeah it is always with me and most of the time I can just not notice it but there are times when a shot of pain will happen and that’s hard not to notice

I have chronic back pain I try to ignore.

It was easier to keep the house clean when my kids lived here. They always wanted money for one reason or another, so I could always bribe one of them to wash the floors or vacuum the carpeting or whatever. Now I have to do it all myself. 😢

I had very little help. I guess I didn’t kick enough butt. My parents knew how to get work out of kids. By the time I was fourteen, I knew I’d better have supper in progress if I got home from school and Mother was gone. They understood motivation thoroughly!

We never gave the kids allowances. We supplied the necessities, but if they wanted luxuries (aka anything you can live without), they had to buy them themselves. As a result, they were always looking for a way to make a buck — a desire I was happy to exploit.

And you have to keep cleaning over and over. I seem to clean less often as I get older.

Oh, me too. I don’t have to impress anyone. When I had kids at home I didn’t want to get behind. If I didn’t clean on my day off, a double mess would be waiting by my next opportunity to catch up.

I’m not sure I would get anything done if this guy came to clean the house.
