Good Things

What positive events have taken place in your life over the past year?

My ninety-six year old mother sold her home and moved into an independent living apartment. She is extremely happy there. She’s made many friends. I don’t worry about her being alone and falling now. She eats with her friends in the dining room and has gained four pounds. She walks twice daily and is stronger and more steady. She said she wishes she’d moved there ten years ago.

I’m 52 and have an only child. The last thing I want is for him to worry about me being lonely and falling in my “old age.” I remind myself daily (because I know it is not an easy decision for anyone involved) to be open minded about going into assisted living when the time comes. So happy to see your mother happy…. and it was comforting to hear that she wished she would have done it sooner. Best wishes to you both.

  2. She’s so precious. What a wonderful “good thing”! I’m so thankful to be here. My list is long. It’s overwhelming. My special homemade bag goes with me to places that challenge me~ like treatments~ and also, when I’m celebrating other things like schools. I’ll not take the good things for granted~ I know you don’t either! 💚❤️💚
